1967 coronet auto 383 with A/C
so far I have only found the correct one on 2 sites and both are asking in the 230 range.
One was classic auto air. does anyone here know of other places to get a core for this style? Would it be reasonable to see if it can be repaired? I don't have it out of...
After driving close to 100 miles this weekend, it does feel to run better but does ping a bit under heavy load as in up a big hill at freeway speeds. Gas mileage seems a bit better too.
I picked up a new 180* stat from the part slingers earlier this week because they had told me that the oem spec was 195 and I wanted cooler than that, an195 just seemed really high for an older car. Turns out it had a 160 in there to begin with and now the gage shows right in middle of the long...
no actually. That is something I always keep an eye on as well.. Its usual range is at the first bar and a little above that and you can tell when the thermostat kicks open too.
So today started off pretty crummy. Car doesnt start, hook up to the charger and find out battery has a failed cell so I ride the GS650 to work and spit out $80 for a new battery. Get home and put it in and head out to target. Halfway there the temp gauge starts rising so I turn up the heater...
Well what would you want to get rid of them for? I have a brand new clutch that should make up for that fuse problem and my current compressor has a nice busted piston keeping it from working.
Here is a little of what I am dealing with right now. I have tried searching the part number[2587564] and found that it replaces an older design, but it is not the most recent update, however I cannot seem to find what is.
I also found this one:

The part is about halfway down the page and is described as "Various Year A & B Body (5 button)"
This weekend while I was trying to figure out the problem with my radio(I curse the monkey that did the wiring 'fixes' back there) the little white box that holds all the a/c and heater control goodies broke apart. I was looking through the web for the replacement and I see a lot on ebay and...
Ok Thanks guys! The picture and description on most websites arent very descriptive and are just a stock picture. I will put in my order as soon as possible, probably after tomorrow when my check clears for work.
ok, before I just jump into it, is the clutch just the pulley, or is there more to it that I have not seen yet? not that it would make much difference after I have the parts I would figure out how to replace it anyway, I just would like to have a little insight as to what I am getting into...
also side note: may help a little. I checked if there was any refrigerant in the system using the 'screwdriver test' and had a nice little spray out of the valve. Depending on the outcome of the insurance claim I may order a clutch assy. from o'riellys
Sorry it took so long to reply, I have been recovering from a motorcycle accident and havent been able to get on the laptop much.
Clutch is bad without a doubt, the bearing inside the pulley is destroyed. unless the clutch is a bigger piece than what I am understanding (the pulley+ an...
ok, and do they carry all the flushes too? also are you saying I will need to replace the evaporator and condensor too? I aready had plans to do the compressor, drier, and expansion valve and a system flush which I had added up to about $300 or so. Thank you for the replies, I would hate to...
I bought my '67 in..... February I think, and it cost me a total of $1,700. It has factory ac in it, but a combination of factors led together for a grenaded compressor. Driving home one day the clutch bearing froze up( heck, it could have been frozen before and this was the trip that killed the...
