Yes, one head has to come off, and (I Believe) the other needs to be loosened. I just purchased this 2pc valley plate from mancini racing that goes on without the need to remove or loosed the heads.

I used one on a crossram, but not a hemi. I used the Innovate unit that has senders for each bank and displays both simultaneously. Worked good for tuning.

You can also run a fuel pump controller to slow the pump down at low rpm. Makes the pump a little quieter and it should last a little longer too (not working as hard when fuel demand is lower). I have one installed on my car and it works flawlessly.

Current set up....512inch motor. Dual Eddy 1407 carbs on a crossram intake. 10.5:1 compression. Running 110octane fuel.
Fuel system consists of a Aeromotive SS Series Fuel Pump, Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator set to 6psi. The fuel supply deadheads at the regulator.
