    Cars with aftermarket undercoating.

Bring an awl and start hammering away at the various sections, if there are holes you'll find them. Looks like a solid car, in Northeast terms. My wagon is the same, caked on factory undercoating, looks like tar in some spots, dried out in others. I scrape off the dry areas and anything that is...

    62 Plymouth Certified Speedometer?

As Magnante stated, iirc, his also has all the other police parts, dual pully high output alternator, specific wheels with tabs that take specific caps, etc. Speedo might have just been added during resto, or someone on the assembly line installed for whatever reason.

To shroud or not to shroud...

62 Dart with a rebuilt 383 hp, aluminum radiator, stock 8 blade fan, no shroud, no issues. If I had a shroud that fit I'd probably put it on, but it ain't broke at this point, driven it in 90+ traffic. I also have a 67 bb a-body, factory bb radiator, Hayden 2947 low profile fan clutch, Derale...

    Barn finds?

It is true, Auto Archaeology was not the first person to video and post this collection on YouTube. Someone else did the same exact walk around to all of these cars, iirc did a better job. Finding videos on YT can be very difficult, I was trying to find one earlier today and gave up, found the...

    Barn finds?

Sweet! Reminds me of my cars, much nicer though. The reality is, any one of mine I couldn't afford to buy now, that's after getting them roadworthy, without paint or any shiny bits.

    Barn finds?

Counterpoint. A good friend of mine, known him for decades, started a junkyard in 1968, before I was even a thought in my parents heads. For decades, he saved every Mopar he could find, built multiple buildings, sheds, and barns. Always willing to sell for the right price, but he will not...

How do I raise the rear of the car 2 or 3 inches 64 Savoy

On second thought, she probably just said 'stock' or 1 inch above, etc. This is 1 inch above with the double hole front hangers on the upper/lower hole.

How do I raise the rear of the car 2 or 3 inches 64 Savoy

I've called Espo and ordered/received springs for 2 cars, one a 62 Dart. Both times she asked me if I wanted ride height, 1 inch more, 2 inches more, etc. Never asked me what my ride height was. I plan on calling and getting springs for my 64 soon, wonder what they'll ask me.

    Clean, not remove undercoating.

Spray undercoating with Goo Gone - Automotive Goo & Sticker Remover. Make sure it is this type of Goo Gone, sometimes hard to find. Spray on a thick coat, walk away, come back in a few hours spray again, walk away, repeat if you can, come back 24 hrs later. It will appear dried out and normal...

IBM Card received today from Historical Services

Jon made me a set years ago for my car, received 2. Excellent reproduction of what the cards were, cardstock, punches, font, etc. Plus clear, readable, and so cool to have with the car. I actually sent him more examples of blurry and not so blurry (in spots) cards and much to my surprise I...

I have to park one of my mopars on gravel next to my driveway this winter. Any suggestions on what I could do to help it not rot out the frame?

I have a car stored in a carport, dirt floor, metal roof, I'm not too concerned as the wind typically keeps it dry, but I thought I would put down a few pieces of pressure treated 2x6 I have laying around and drive up on them just because they're here.

Why Poly Engine Mounts are Garbage

Poly engine mounts are garbage, and you may never even notice. I see this come up at times, so here's what I've learned. My car has a tunnel ram, so years ago when I made the switch to poly, I noticed, over time, the engine was making contact with the hood on the passenger side. I first...

Has anyone used regular Krylon or Rustolium as engine paint?

Bill Hirsch turquoiseon my engine, around $30, still have half a can + left. I'll never go back to spray paint.

With no punch in 52 looks like open rear. Also, a punch in 65 could be an ordered car.

    Torque straps

Drill a hole through the entire mount, put a bolt with a lock washer on, tighten just shy of tight. Some even use a countersunk allen head bolt so it's not visible. I've had it on mine for years.
