My car is a stock 413 MW and maybe makes 420hp. 62 Dart @ 3600#, stick. Runs high 12's.
I leave the line at 6200 on the limiter and side step the clutch. Any less launch rpm and it bogs the motor off the launch on a well prepped track. It dead hooks, leaves slightly to the right, but bucks 2 or...
Well, I spoke with Calvert today and they said caltracs and super stocks are ok together. Just band the back of the springs together also, and set the caltracs up like normal. This is right from the horse's mouth, so all is good with super stocks and caltracs says Calvert. Thanks for everyone's...
I thought I was getting the right stuff, according to Mancini it was supposed to work. They sold it to me as a package, front shocks, rear shocks, super stocks and caltracs.
Can I take some leafs out of the super stocks as a fix or bandaid? With the covid all our borders are closed, so I couldn't get splits if I wanted too. Or do I throw these caltracs away and just run the super stocks?
Shorten how much? The caltracs are for a 20" front segment, and there is .050" gap between the spring and striker bar, both sides. What gap should there be?
Same here. Bought from Mancini and was told they would work with super stocks. I'm in Canada so returning them isn't an option. That's my last purchase from Mancini, never again!!!
13.38 @102mph Track was well prepped, Street Outlaws were also there on Sunday. No spin whatsoever, 1.89 60 foot, leaving @5800rpm side stepping the clutch. Deadhooking the car but not enough power to get off the line.
Sure was fun to go down the track again though.
This clutching and shifting...
I'm not sure why a pinion snubber is used, the car is supposed to lift with the springs. The Direct connection bible shows how to build a pinion snubber, which I followed to a tee, and suggests using it with SS springs, I just don't understand why?
Hi all. I haven't been down the track with a door car in 30 years and it's been almost 20 years since my dragster days.
Tomorrow I'm taking the 62 Dart to the track. It's ready for tech but I'm not sure about some of the prep stuff.
New 29.5x9 slicks on an 8" rim, What pressure to start with...
The throttle arm on the eddys is longer than the arms on the 3705's. you would have to move the holes outwards to fix it at the bell crank, or move the holes in on the throttle arm on the carbs. The secondaries should start to open when the primaries are at 3/4 open.
The staggered jetting is to...
Hi Mike, if you want to run the Dominator, then do it. I run 2-750cfm Carters on my 413 MW, on the street.
Your engine would run, on a single 2bbl, but like eating celery for breakfast, you will barely make it out the door before you fall flat on your face.
4 split Dominators, would slow your...
