I went through this exercise recently with my '94 F150. All the parts stores around my area only carried the Dorman, which didn't fit. No longer available from Ford (Canada anyway). Wound up getting a couple for a trailer axle (from Princess Auto, for you Canadians) that fit perfectly.
Something to look at as well is the pin that the over center spring hooks over under the dash. I have had a couple of cars display the same symptoms and it turned out to be the pin was worn half way through, changing the geometry just enough to cause the hanging pedal. If the pin is indeed worn...
Sounds like it is optioned like my Charger R/T. No options other than a Hemi Track Pack. If it is not supposed to have a console, I'm good with that. I prefer two buckets and a 4 speed shifter.
Yes, I noted all of those discrepancies as well as a few others. Sloppy paint by painting over the the door strikers etc. I would suspect that the A833 is a 23 spline and not the correct 18 spline. From the photos it appears to have the incorrect rear leaf springs. It appears to be missing most...

The one from Bracebridge Ontario is light brown or beige. I believe it did go to the U.S. at some point. I have a photo of it from 1980
