I just found a proper set at a local hardware store. They are aluminum and the correct size is 5/8 ID and 7/8 OD. Which also translates to 16 mm ID / 22 mm OD. As a thanks to the person that sent me a pair. I promised to pay it forward. Anyone looking for a pair. I ll mail them to you free of...
Yeah 16 mm id, 22 od. It can’t be any larger in outside diameter because of a knuckle on the carb, next to the banjo. Very kind of you to offer. Another kind gentleman on A body site is mailing me a pair. Thank you, for your kindness.
It’s not genuinely a crush washer, I agree. This is what Edlebrock, Spectra and probably Holley too. Include with those fuel rails you buy separately with a 90 degree elbow and have a port that has a pressure gauge attached.
Yeah, Napa is probably the best bet here too. Problem is, I don’t know their hours now. I swung by a few local part stores and they are all closed. Autozone is usually open late Sunday evenings. But, not open either. Regardless, they only carry the crappy nylon washers.
They are definitely stainless. They are included with Edlebrock fuel rail. They are very thin. A kind gentleman on A body site helped me locate some. Thank you, for the responses.
A 16mm very thin crush washer made of stainless steal. It’s for the banjo fuel rail for on an edlebrock carb. Looked everywhere, I need 2 of them. No parts stores carries them. Can’t find em on Ebay either.
On an original carb and original pump, yes. But, the design of an aftermarket carburetor has different flow characteristics compared to the original carb and original pump combined. The venturies change from carb to carb. If the aftermarket carb has better flowing venturies. The fuel pressure...
An aftermarket 4 barrel carburetor is designed to operate properly at a specified fuel pressure rating per the manufacturer’s suggestion based on the design of that specific 4 barrel carb. The fuel pressure has to meet that suggested pressure or the fuel doesn’t burn efficiently. Most 4 barrel...
It would most definitely help if you mounted it somewhere more stable. But, you have a another problem. You most likely have a return fuel line to your tank. This creates erratic pressure or erratic needle movement because of your return line you most likely have. If you temporarily disconnect...
It depends on the pressure suggested by the specific carburetor manufacturer. For example, my Edlebrock is suggested to run off 6.5 pds. If it’s too little or too much the carb doesn’t spray fuel efficiently. To answer your idle question. A regulator sets the same pressure at idle or throttle...
Ten four on the vibrations. I had a cheap gauge mounted on the fuel rail beside the carb and the 2 screws backed out of the gauge that holds the face on. I have to buy a new gauge because I can’t find matching screws to fix it. They’re very small, approximately 2 mm. Next one I buy. I’ll use red...
Why do some fuel pressure gauges have a liquid in them ? I assume it’s oil ? Is there any advantage of a gauge having this liquid or not ? I assume it’s for the purpose of preventing the needle from bouncing back and forth too fast. You know, to slow the needle down. But, i’m not sure and always...
To my surprise. I’m actually getting slightly better fuel mileage after increasing jet sizes two times. A lot cooler outside though, could be contributing. Regardless, it’s no worst. Big surprise, to me.
No. I changed step u springs only, first.
Changed rods, second. These first two steps resulted in faster mid throttle response. I knew when I was about to change the jets to larger ones, last. It would get me my results. I believe if I up the secondary jets one more time. It will be perfect...
Plug readings and driving diagnosis. If an engine doesn’t rev as high as it should, that’s one indicator of a lean carb. I have a dash tach. A motor with a slightly lean carb can run fine on flat ground. I live at the bottom of a steep mountain. I’ve learned through carbureted motorcycles. Same...
Threw in some jets. Wow, it’s a new car. Upped jets 1 time to 98 primary and 101 secondaries. 87 octane gas. I’m tempted to try 104 secondaries, but this car only averages 9-12 mpg and that’s before I increased them. Maybe, I ll wait to read plugs on a few trips. Step up springs made a huge...
