Have you got something else binding? I can't see that spring will make a night and day difference. If you do put it on can you report back what difference it makes. I would be interested to hear what you find.

Mega Parts has all that new, look under steering column parts of the Interior section.

A reproduction is probably a better choice as it will work with your electronic ignition. The originals only work with points.
