My block was cast March of '67 even though it's numbers matching for an April '68 assembly. Your block appears to have been cast only a few months prior to assembly.
I don't think the transmissions were stamped with any partial VIN's until '68. The clock is not a commonly found item and can usually work again with some very thin oil and cleaning of the contact points.
I have the original 4429 on mine. The lower plugs were meant to be non adjustable once the factory set them. The only other adjustment was with the reverse thread screw at the top center. The brass mixture screws should have a slot for a fine screwdriver if you choose to remove them. I replaced...
