You get the prize. The current TC has no weights. The TF727 was behind a 383 before and when the 440 was installed the TC was not switched. Tomorrow I will change the flex plate out. Hopefully that solves it.

Hi - It's Scott in San Jose. I think many you will know the answer to my question. Mine is a 1968 Dodge B body. I noticed the inner seal in the rear end housing then the gasket at the 5 bolt flange. How are the outer axle bearings serviced? Hand pack them like front spindle bearings?

Here's is my report.
1. The 2 trans nuts were loose and tightening them made the vibration worse
2. There is no weight on my TC so those who put this machine together didn't know better

The balancer is "cast crank only" Could this mean a mismatch between the torque convertor/flex plate and the balancer?
Can I verify anything through the trans inspection cover?
Is the torque convertor specific to the 440 or can 383 and 440 use the same TC?
