I repaired mine with fiberglass.Rough up the area on the backsiide good and put in a couple layers of the fiberglass mat saturated with resin then slather it up good with the remaining resin and let it harden up for a day or so then you can go to it on the front side.

Bottom actually gets stapled to the package tray from the bottom side with some 1/4 inch staples then when the package tray is secured into place with the 2 hold downs it sorta holds it in there.The sides and upper are just a friction fit over where the headliner wraps over those pointed...

They're only cars,just cut the dash and put it where it belongs.They repo most of the dash plastic stuff if you decide to put that stoneage original back in.
