I suggest priming the carb to see how it reacts. If it fires right off then you have proof the bowls are not holding fuel or the choke is possibly too tight.

I don't even have a choke horn and I'm cold starting after 2 or 3 pumps. The car might die a time or two until it will hold an idle but never an issue.

I will suggest 2 or 3 pumps on the accelerator and not setting the choke. What type of carburetor are you using? Thermoquad?

A Holley or Mallory regulator will be fine. The fuel pressure should be close to 5.5 psi.

Do you have a fuel pressure regulator installed?

Depending on the manufacturer and if the sending unit can be installed 180 degrees off it could be the sender is inverted and the float arm is therefore upside down and sending your gauge a reversed signal. I know this is hard to understand the way I typed it but it happened to me once.

Providing the LIST is another problem all to its self. The choke horn has been milled and through measurements of the venturies, throttle bore, and throttle blades I finally found I had a 750.

Carb in question has 1 3/8 venturies front and rear along with 1 11/16 throttle bore diameters front and rear. It's 750 cfm.
