If stock alternator on big block 68 Charger needs replacing, what should i be looking for amperage wise? I dont want to “cook” wires-seems like most new are 100 amps or so.
I assume i need one for external regulator?
I’m installing new 6x9’s in 68 charger rear deck. Has anyone actually boxed these before hanging from rear deck, under the package tray?Wondering if much difference in sound quality?
From my other electrical threads, it appears i need a new limiter for 68Charger. All have recommended the RTE limiter for $60.
Has anyone installed this in their car, and is it push-in style with no wiring involved?
RTE has no phone number for questions
On 68 charger with no instrument lights, and no gages working, is there a place on the cluster to ADD a separate ground wire to be sure the dash is grounded properly?
68 Charger, been ironing out many electrical gremlins, narrowed down to 2 left, no horns, no dash lights. I feel once the new signal light switch comed in, i MIGHT get dash lights back?
Any way, something looks funny to me, see pics of the horn wiring. I did test the green with red stripe wire...
Backside of the alternator gauge on a 68 charger. When first hooked up the battery after dash was reassembled, heard a arcing noise? So immediately disconnected the battery upon investigation once battery got hooked up again, and the noise went away. I looked at the back of the alternator gauge...
Changing to new signal switch on 69 b body….as im installing, this piece hits the floor? I have no idea where it came from or where it goes?
Is it part of the switch?
Very thin metal, 1 1/4 long x 3/16 wide?
It may not even be from the switch!
Once i figured out getting brakes lights, then rear running lights…time to work on signal lights. Currently i have right side signal lights, front and rear. Nothing on the left… i DO have all 4 parking lights, but if i wiggle the signal lever, thats when the weird stuff happens…. should i order...
69 Super Bee…. Having issues with aftermarket steering wheel horn button. Horn was working fine until i removed the steering wheel to look at signal switch. Couldn’t get that far, so put wheel and horn button back on…. Now no horn. Tried this process 1/2 dozen times with the horn intermittently...
I have 3 flashers on my 69 Superbee, 1 under dash, left of the steering column, 1 right side of steering column.
The third, a smaller diameter flasher, under dash, next to glove box. The first 2 i know are for signals and hazards, whats this smaller 3rd one for?
1969 Superbee Rallye dash, was removed, cleaned, new gage backgrounds, painted needles. All lamps removed, contact areas cleaned, all new lamps installed.
Before all this, everything worked, all 4 gages, even the fuel gage worked! Now--- only voltage gage works, the other 3 dead. All lights...
On my 69 Bee… i have what looks original round back alternator, with 2 wires. Can this be replaced with a square back that has more wire terminals on it? Pics attached show my alternator, and the electronic pieces on the firewall which I don’t know would need changing with square back?
Thanks
Right turn signal works fine, left turn signal, not. Everything works except for the indicator light on the instrument panel. Checked bulb, replace bulb couple three times. No difference. I can hear the flasher clicking and the left front signal light and left rear signal light both work fine but...
Hi guys…. found 68 charger needing to be put back together…. Over the years Ive worked on many old cars, about 80% mechanical 20% electrical. How difficult is it to install a brand new whole car harness? Are there “how to “ instructions/videos you’d recommend?
Currently researching best brand of...
