I remember seeing this discussion before and now I had to remove the dash... should I just plug the black/red together and bypass the gauge?

Hi all. I just got this 1970 Coronet 440. Drove her home yesterday making a few stops, all good.
Today I tried to fire her up and nothing. She did try to start a couple of times but nothing. I checked spark, and it's not there.
It's the original ignition system, SINGLE WIRE distributor. NO...
Right, I'll try to cover ad much as I can:
Tested fuel gauge straight to negative, it works fine going all the way up.
There is a dedicated ground from chassi to fuel sender unit to make sure it has good ground.
Sender if giving me the right range, 10 (or so) on full, 75 (well, 77) on...
Hi all just to check options here, I have a 440 6 barrel and the first start of the day can be painful sometimes.
There's this ritual:
Crank for about 10 sec.
Press pedal to the floor (choke) and release
crank for another 10 seconds... and it starts!
....well... usually... sometimes it won't...
Quick and simple question... I removed the dash and noticed the amp is not in use. Instead both wires were together in one of the bolts from the amp. (Can't remember which one now) but the question is:
- Do they need to be attached to the amp/dash (if so any bolt or any specific?) or can I just...
Hi all, I would like some advice on spark plugs. A is from a 440 6 pack, is that too rich?
And B is from a 318 4 barrel, is that too lean?
