Just took the car out for a quick spin. It is a some what built 440 about 550 HP. Ran great until until it warmed up good, about 190. It started popping intermittently at all steady speeds. Single small backfires that go right away under acceleration. No problem at all under acceleration...
I am installing Painless switch panel and the electric fuel pump switch has a "Prime" and "On" position.
Does anyone prime their pump before starting the and if so for how long and does it help starting a big block.

I have a non electric (manual??) oil pressure gauge that fluctuates and bounces all over the place when the car warms up.
I'm going to assume the gauge is defective and replace it or should I have other concerns

Having a clearance problem with a starter and headers (theres a surprise). It's a mini starter but it rests directly against the headers. Has anbody ever doubled up header gaskets to gain a little clearance. It looks like doing this wouild give me the small amount I need to insulate the starter...
I would like to take the 2” rake out of my 63 Dodge 330. I only have about 1” left on the torsion bar adjusters.
Is there a fix for this maybe like longer torsion bar adjusting bolts or a kit to lift it higher

I have 63 Dodge – 330 that was built for the ¼ mile. I am slowly detuning it for street use.
I just realized that the front shocks are Moroso Drag Racing shocks. “NOT TO BE USED FOR STREET DRIVING” it says on the shock.
