1964 SPORT FURY CONVERTIBLE 426-S

About this Mopar:

1964 Sport Fury convertible 426-S in WW1 White with Bermuda Turquoise/Powder Blue interior. Console auto 727 built by Keith Long, 727specialist.com, pwr brakes, pwr steering, pwr top & pwr windows. Sold new May 1964 at Bill Eger Motors Denver, Colorado. Made it's way east to Texas sometime in the late 90's where it was restored and the engine/trans were rebuilt. Galen Govier certified in 2003 and at that time was #3 in V.I.N. sequence of 8 known in his registry. Being a dry southwest car from day one it is a very dry car and seems to have all its original sheet metal. I have procured numerous NOS items and have installed them on the car such as reverse lights, reverse light back up switch, rear tail lamp harness, rear view mirror, side view mirror, Sport Fury trunk script, washer bag, distributor vacuum advance, firewall bulkhead connector, fuel fill cap, Mopar 34P plug set etc. Correct date coded plug wires provided by Lectric Limited of Bedford Park, Il. Battery provided by Jim's Battery Mfg of Youngstown, Oh. Radiator by Glen Ray Radiators of Wausau, WI. Brake booster restored by Dewey Booster, Portland, Oregon. Original AFB carb restored by Harold Demes of Vail, Az. Correct NOS fuel pump, Correct date coded alternator restored by Paul Jacobs of Evansville, Ind. Paul restored the date code correct starter as well. All chrome, aluminum & stainless steel has been restored and shows very well. Interior provided by SMS in Oregon and sewn by Legendary Interiors. The original Transaudio AM radio is bluetooth equipped with high quality speakers under both front seats. The original 426-S has been bored 0.20 over, align honed, block decked, rods stressed relieved, rods resized, rotating assy balanced and short block clearances blueprinted. Only the best of the best internals utilized, Ross pistons, Childs & Albert rings, REV S/S valves, Melling oil pump, Clevite mains & rod bearings, Cloyes double roller timing chain, Comp Cams stock grind cam, bronze guides, double valve springs, Fel Pro engine gasket set. Cam degreed in. All machine shop work photo documented. A set of correct Coker 7.50 x 14 Custom Power Cushion tires with 1" whitewall truly give the car the right factory stance. Rear springs have been re-arched. Original 3.23 non S/G with factory tapered axles & drums. Lots of $$$ has been spent on the car and it shows. The 426 is strong with a super smooth idle. Car is a joy to drive top down & gets it's fair share of attention every time. 1rst place in class 2020 All Chrysler Nationals Carlisle, P.A. AACA First Junior Oct 2021. 2023 AACA Senior, 2024 AACA Grand National

Really nice car.. I built one of these 20 years ago and I see you have great options.
Thanks 65...It really is a very nice solid car with great options including interior color which is why I bought it.

You did a great job on getting all of the details of every segment of the car restored to the Nth degree! Looks great and I am sure runs even better than new. I am cuirous to know if you have a date coded ignition coil in the car? I am restoring a 67 Hemi Charger and am pondering the importance of buying a date code correct ignition coil. However I am not clear on how to decode the coil stamps offerred by different companies. Do you know the details on decoding the ignition coil? Thank you in advance and enjoy the car.
