I know its not a mopar but i think pretty impressive car anyway.
Actually my favourite corvette of all time.
I think the C4's are the best looking. ZR-1 the fastest and the Prototyp still has the 80s interior which i think is way superior to the 1990 and up interior of the regular production model.

I actually think the buyer got a great deal as i suspect they will go up in value.
Was actually surprised it "only" sold for 75 grand. Yeah its a lot of money but i would have thought they are worth a lot more... Probably because its my favourite corvette of all time...

I like the C4's also. My personal favorite is the C5. I think they lost it with the C7 and I don't even want to comment on the C8...

while i appreciate the platform, the body skin design pretty much reminded me of a firebird or camaro.
these cars are Dirt cheap here in the northeast, running and driving.
they make great parts cars for kit cars too.

We all thought that engine was pretty amazing back when it was new, 380 hp. being a lot more than most emissions platforms were capable of and something to talk about after the Buick GNX went away.

These days though when even a v6 can have 335 hp. in Camaros, the old Corvette doesn't seem as overwhelming anymore.

I always thought these design similarities have been due to the fact that these where scaled down, cheaper alternatives?

I know the regular C4s are dirt cheap. I could probably import a pretty nice one to germany and have it turn key for like 10k€ or something.
The L98 models are pretty nice but i would want that almost 400 sae net hp from the ZR-1.
But i dont like the interior from the production model so i would have to shell out big bucks for the prototype... :D (Who knows when this will be up for sale again and for how much)
...or live with the 90s interior
...or live with about half power in the regular L98 model
...Or go Callaway / custom supercharger install (But who wants to deal with that forced induction stuff if you can have a naturally aspirated engine with some serious power?)

Fortunately i'm not about to buy another car right now.

That said i would really love to drive any 1985-1989 C4 or even better a 1990 ZR-1 just for one day.
Because im really curious how it drives and handles. (I've been told the regular C4 with the Z51 package handles even better than the ZR-1, dont know if that is true)
I've never been in a car that anybody would consider really good or even great handling by todays standards.
I think one of the most affordable options (yeah i know the C7 or C8 will outhandle this but i think it still wont be to shabby) is the C4 or even better ZR-1. So driving one would be pretty exciting for me.
But unfortunately where i live that seems impossible without buying it.

I have owned a C3 (74 454) and a C4 (96 LT4), the early C4's were exceptionally bad in terms of fit and finish; screws falling out, plastic braking, etc. The later cars were not as bad which is why I bought the 96. It was a decent car overall but the technology of the time had issues such as the Optispark (aka distributor) that is directly beneath the water pump shaft which eventually leaks and drips coolant onto the distributor and it shorts out... common problem. Also, you basically have to rip the front of the engine apart to change the sparkplug wires which are routed down and underneath the engine. Corvette guys all remark how unique they are and how thats just the price you pay to own a "factory made race car".... LOL Don't get me wrong, I am not a corvette hater but I am not a corvette lover either. I have driven the C7's quite a bit and they re cool and they do perform but they are not "unique" in the sense you hardly ever see one, they are pretty much everywhere. Still, they can be fun to drive and the newer ones can take a beating.

I like the C4 ZR-1. Yuma airport in Az holds a no fly 1/2 mile car thing. I had my C6 Z06 there a couple years ago. I hit 156. It was still pulling. GM claimed 200 mph top speed.

Thats really a gap i have to fill at some point cause im so curious.
Well im working on it but most people (of course) wont let you drive their fancy sports cars unfortunately.
Renting a C7 in my area is like 800$ for a weekend :mob: (Or with extra miles the same for just 1 day)

Hope my best friend appreciates that i let him regularly drive my cars on our weekend trips.
Most people unfortunately never get the chance or have to pay a fortune. :(
But now he bought a Lincoln Mark VII and while no fancy handling wonder im still curious what this thing is like. Will find out soon. :)

And my Industrial Arts teacher in High School was selling a 59 283 glide with a hardtop. White with turquoise in the "C" panel on the side. I think power windows. I was a junior and came home and said he wanted to sell it. I pitched it as a 59 Chevy. They caught on and I failed as a car salesman. I think back in 72 he wanted $1200. Where's my bang head guy. Oh here he is. :BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead::BangHead:

While I will NEVER tire of driving my rowdy 1967 GTX with its drum brakes and questionable handling. I purchased a 2019 ZR1. Polar opposite driving experiences, both make me smile

You should do 100+ in my 66 Dart. Same feeling with a big grin at the end. Maybe because I survived. LOL Always fun to mash it at 70 in 4th and watch a semi disappear in your rear view. With a 273!

Watch this lowly LT1 '94 Camaro shift into 4th gear at 155 mph. No more speedometer left.

Doing this on a street like that would probably also put you in jail here in germany. :D

Dont know if i had to have one.
But i would love to drive it just for one day for sure. (And then the answer would be probably yes)

Is it me or is something wrong with that video? When the camera goes from the speedo to the road, notice how fast they approach the trees on the left. Then it appears he is going 150 as he approaches the work truck and it's about the same speed as coming up on the trees. Unless that pickup is cruising at 125 mph, the pass sure is slow.

My first Corvette was a 85 C4, poorly built car but still fun. Picked up my “dream” 64 stingray coup 327 4 speed but had to sell it after 12 years due to family health issues. Awesome car that always got looks. Bought my first Mopar 73 Challenger basket case project. Just finished it a few months ago and sold it within 6 hours of listing it (never got to drive it more than around the block!).
Just picked up my 67 Coronet last week. Crappy cold with salt on the roads so no driving for now.
Moral of the story? No clue, just buy something you like and have fun!

GM didn't get out of the "screws falling out and plastic pieces breaking " game until sometime after 2010, I think. I always tell people that if you're going to buy a GM vehicle before that year it's a labor of love...

I've had a c3 1976 and a c4 1988 I liked them both but the 76 had the good looks the 88 though was definitely faster and more agile my 88 had the 4+3 manual witch was a weird thing in my eyes
I like the new ones (not the newest but one before ) maybe a c8 ?

But there all about the same in my eyes you got to have one once to say you had one but I wouldn't keep one around!

But they get some respect

$75k seems high to me on the above car as it's still just a used car in my eyes but to each his own
