18 spline 3rd gear question

Hi group,
Is a T314-11B 26 tooth 3rd gear right for my 1969 - 2.65 ratio trans which calls for an aftermarket WT294-11C. I picked one up (T314-11B) and it looks identical to my OEM gear. Both are 26 tooth, same outside diameter, gear pitch looks identical and neither has the identifying grooves which is correct for my trans. It sure looks right but I’m confused between the B and C designation although I know they are from different manufacturers. Any thoughts?

I don' t know them by those numbers but one way to know is to make a trial assembly. Put the cluster in and the bare main shaft with bearing and the one gear, including input with all the bearings, and you can check backlash and even check the pattern on the teeth. There is a 2.44:1 ratio gear set but I don't recall if any are compatible.
