Yeah these cars are pretty funky for most peoples' tastes I think, and therefore drives their price down. It's a shame really; the one you posted looks like it had a lot of love go into it.
 
They are a love it or hate it kind of car. Like a first Gen Charger. I like the odd balls and would drive it everywhere.
 
I don't like them. Cut the price in half and id think about it.
 
The seller re posted the car, with an unstated reserve. It ended a little while ago at a bid of 12K, which didn't even reach the reserve.
 
I have grown fond of the sheet metal.....lot of sculpture,,,love the profile & rear styling, not so much the grille. There's a lot of sculpture, hard to recreate. I think an aluminum block slant six is a bitchen motor.
 
i'd bet the guy is in no less than 20K. How many alloy 225's were made? Sounds like a Sleeper to me.
