Awesome!

It has the perfect amount of patina.

...now get that '64 rear bumper off that white '63 Dodge. LOL

Great stuff !! Are the front fenders aluminium and the hood steel ? Only ask this because I thought that all aluminium fronts had Max Wedge hood scoop .

rscurtis,No it has the 6 bolt valve covers because of the late year production! OG max wedge I think you need to let me have that pile I'll even pay the shipping!! LOL Nice find! I had one back in the day! The big difference was it was Hemi LW It was sold through Mr. Norms Don't have any idea where it went! It was race car from day 1 so it changed hands a lot I guess.

I dont understand it is original paint but one pic shows the fenders painted and one shows them not? Also I cant believe someone in california had tossed that thing onto the side of their driveway like it was nothing. Glad you saved it! Tell me more so I can understand the original paint statement.

Hmmmm, the bumper hitch is rather odd on a car like this. Must have pulled a SPEED boat.........................MO

VIN or fender tag will clear up all questions.

yes it is an original paint car, the last owner had put some primered stock steel fenders on the car so he could drive it around when he was short a car, two weeks after i bought the car he called me and told me he had placed some spare parts on the side of his how for me to pick up, when i get there i saw the stock aluminum fenders sitting there in all their glory.. hence the photos of them leaning against the pole.. there was also a box with the aluminum bumper bracket, lightweight bumper and aluminum grill support,
tho answer the question on the lack of a hood scoop. when the car was new it was only used as a street sleeper, the first owner traded the factory aluminum hood to his buddy for the steel one so no one would know it was a max wedge lightweight, if you look closely you will see a trailer hitch for the same reason,

when the 2nd owner got sick with cancer his family moved it to take care of him and the car get kicked out of the garage and it was converted into a bedroom, yes he knew what he had and the 2nd owner owned it since 1972..

So you would be on the look out for a L/W hood and scoop I guess !!!

yes i would love to find an aluminum hood but the chances of finding an original paint black hood is going to be slim,
i once found an outer shin from a factory light weight hood and they wanted $10K for it,
i wish i would have bought it when i had the chance

Love the rare, unrestored originals like your Maxie. Very high coolness factor.

I remember when the owner lived off of Vanowen st. He was a super nice guy. Mosher tried to buy that car but he would not sell it to him. I'm glad it stayed unrestored. It's only original once.
