1964 dodge polara 2 door conversion

Hi All - first time posty
Just a quick question about converting a 1964 dodge polara
4 door sedan into a 2 door - but I don't want to use "B" pillar
and just have it as a hartop look if you know what I mean.
Can this be done?

sorry but that thread is not what he is asking. it could be done but you would have to cut the door tops off and brace it like a convertible and cut new windows so they would match up like a hardtop.

It is exactly what needs to be done in that thread, 4 door into 2 door less the post and door tops. For me doing this in Australia would be hard work with FA parts, maybe turn it into a 2 door post car .

For this project you should look at the 63 hard tops. Perhaps the parts from a 63 would get you there. I also noticed on racing junk some time back where a fellow installed 64 fenders and dash onto a 63.

So much easier to do versus the sedan conversion I did. Same steps besides welding the frame braces in. A lot easier to find parts for also. I would suggest using 64/65 ht doors and quarter sections (a lot easier to find parts). Can use the upper roof weatherstripping and chrome off of a 62-63 2dr or off a 64 4dr ht.
Unless you get lucky and find a clapped out 63 ht you can get parts from.

Wait a minute here... It would be EASIEST to convert a 1964 4-door sedan into a 2-door sedan because they use the same roof. You don't want a B pillar, but you have a sedan C pillar, which is a completely different roof from that of a hardtop. In 1963 the hardtop and sedan B-body models used the same roof, so I would think you need a 1963 hardtop parts car to achieve the desired result. Need the doors, all side glass and the quarter panels with internals. Especially the door jamb and latch mechanism, they are 'opposite' from a 64-5 car.
