Does anyone know if a group 27 battery will fit in the tray?

Yes, a Group 27 will fit a '64 battery tray.

Yes. That is what I run in my 64 Fury and my 67 Coronet. (Pretty much fills the tray up..)

Works fine, have to remove the handle.
