McKesson 1965 Plymouth Belvedere AFX altered wheel base square tube chassis race car.



Bill McKesson had the original car in the '60s and recreated this car to meet modern safety standards for Nostalgia racing. It has a 489 cu. in. aluminum Keith Black hemi wet block. Dart heads ported by Modern Cylinder Heads. Port matched to Hilborn fuel injection set up by Kinsler (mechanical). Diamond 13.5 to 1 pistons, Brooks Aluminum Rods, COMP roller cam, Callies Crank, and Moroso vacuum pump. Ten passes since re-ringing/valve job with new springs. Front suspension - double A-arm w/Koni coil-over shocks w/ adjustable dampers. Brakes Wilwood slotted and drilled discs. Rear suspension - Dana 60 w/Strange 31- spline axles 4.56 gear spool, 4 link suspension housing locator, wheelie bars, Wilwood disc brakes. NHRA chassis certification to 8.50 et. Trans - 727 TCI valve body, reverse shift pattern, no trans brake, ATI 5500 stall converter. 35 passes on trans. Fiberglass body, doors, fenders & bumpers, steel body fire wall is still intact. 2700 lbs less driver. Front tires - Moroso on Weld wheels. Rear tires - MT 10.5w on Weld Draglite wheels. Ignition - MSD digital-6, MSD billet aluminum distributor. Cooling - aluminum radiator/electric fan, CSR electric water pump. Best Run of 9.5 @140 mph, 1.29 60 foot on gas. Car is in CT to see. $30,000 turn key.
