My trunk has what looks like spatter paint in it and I figured that someone had done that at some point. I saw a picture of a 64 Belvedere and it looked pretty much like my car. If you'll notice, the trunks appear to be painted and then seam sealer is put on after. I'll post my trunk first and then the Belvedere. What color did they paint the trunks back then?

Thanks

My 63,64,65 were all grey spatter paint O.E.
Sorry, No photos to show.

Thanks

Has anyone tried to duplicate it?

This has been asked many time the original trunk coating was called Zollatone they are still in business but the exact code is no longer available the factory code is in the service manual. Many companies offer Trunk paint that is close to the original color.

I used Dupli-Color it's real close to O.E. Truthfully I can't tell. Maybe if you are Gold Certified Judge.

Painting the trunk is still a couple of months away. I'm going to look closer, but it appears that if I hit the whole thing with some light gray and use an Eastwood Chevy color to spatter, that I can get close.

Thanks
