WTB 1966 14x6KL steel wheels

In the 35 years I have been working on my car, I only found the cop car wheels and covers available one time. And the car had the unobtanium Leece Neville brackets I needed, but it was after my car was done. I had already made the Leece Neville brackets from looking at my buddy's car.

The car was on an auction site and was in Texas. Sold for around $2,000. I seriously considered buying it. This was probably 7 - 8 years ago.

The 14x6 wheels or the 15x6 wheels? I found this set on Ebay but they already sold, they are what I need. 14x6 Electrofuse, he actually had all 5.

That was for the 15 x 6. The ebay ones look like they would be correct. Or in my opinion, close enough.

If I was to guess.. there might not be any visual difference between the wheels, but generally speaking " cop wheels " were made of thicker steel.. maybe weight is the only difference.

In this case cop car wheels are 15" non-cop car are 14".

So after looking some more, I think the wheel he has on the car is flat out wrong for a 66 C body, cop car or not. Best I can tell that is a 65 wheel. The 66 14 x 6 wheel is good from 66 - 68 and is only a 5 hole, best I can tell. The ebay link even has the factory part number i it.

The only way to tell what he had originally would be to find the build sheet. Or if he is happy with what is on there just duplicate it, even though its probably wrong.

The bottom line here is the OP wants this particular wheel. His friend that he is helping needs this particular wheel. If you have some that look like what he pictured, communicate with him. If you don't have any wheels, no comment is really necessary. It's nice to discuss and learn what they came off of but plugging up a wanted thread is not where that should be done. He posted his request on C bodies and the thread is starting to turn into a technical chat room like this thread. Everybody has an opinion what they came off of but no one has wheels.

You are probably very correct as it may not be the exact wheel for that car but it's what he wants so I will oblige helping him out. Is the "769" the part number on the wheel I posted a pic of and what does that correlate to in your parts catalog?
