1966 440 hp block??

My dad has a block, marked b440 hp, dated 2-66 on the side

What's the deal? I thought hp was only 67 plus? Haven't found any info yet

Those came in 1966 Chrysler 300`s, Sport Fury`s, Monaco 500s. Don’t know if you could special order the HP in other C bodies. Supposedly C body only.

Yes C-body. There is no difference in the blocks. The difference is in the parts put in the block. Then HP gets stamped. And the part number of the engine is different. Last 3 digits on the broadcast sheet and written on the end of one valve cover in grease pen.
