I was wondering the value of a set of letters off a 66 coronet, there original never removed. I've seen these go for alot or almost nothing. Just curious, I'm shaving them off my car and if they have any value all be careful about it. Thanks for the help.

I just depends on who needs them and what they are willing to give for them. I have some for a 67 listed but no interest was shown as they weren't a complete set. I think having a front and rear set together should be desirable though. List a price obo see if you get any bites. jmo

That's about what I thought. Thanks mite just end up on the shop wall

Rear ones hardly ever are missing or damaged beyond use.

Front ones are far more in demand, but pitted ones or broken studs severely affect value.

Hard to find non-pitted ones.

The middle "D" is probably the most sought after as most folks don't realize it is different, and some sets contain two first "D"'s, or are really from a different model.

I have a bucket full of them, none perfect but paid less than $20 per full or partial set, although I've seen much higher asking prices.

Just curious to how the middle D is different. Is it contoured to fit the shape of the hood?

Yep.

It sits right on the peak.

Studs are different- reversed pattern from first D.

For some reason that middle D is easy to break the studs on as well.
