Ok.

So...to set base idle adjustments on these are done via the large brass air bleeds

Is it imperative that said air bleeds be the exact same number of turns out ? Adjusting base idle speed

Or just close and set final base idle via the front carb with air cleaner on?

Working on it today to get my choke working right and thought I would ask while I'm there

Trying to find my notes I wrote down for when I get mine running. IIRR the big screw is idle speed since butterflies are closed and the little screws (1-1/2 turns out to start) adjust the mixture. I would turn the big ones out the same. I’ll keep looking for the notes. Sorry I can’t help you more.

Thats about where I have them both right now
With a pretty decent base idle
Seemed like good thing that they were reasonably equal

I don’t know if it’s per Chrysler tuning instructions but I screw both in to lightly bottom them and then back them out equally and any further adjustments while running I make equally to both. Seems to work OK.

I'm sure you have and have read the 1966 Factory Shop Manual (FSM) for the Hemi engine initial carb settings. The procedure is outlined specifically as the REAR carb is the primary carb, for both idle mixture screw adjustments. .......just my thoughts....

For 66-67 the manual talks about balancing equal. The 68 and up are different carbs and jetting for CAP. It is about getting cylinder distribution right and no misses on front cylinders.

Thanks all.
I have them out about the same

I drove it today
But think I need to raise base idle just a smidge . so will adjust accordingly
