Would anyone be able to give me a location for drilling the hole in the console plate for the factory tachometer?
1967 Coronet RT
Thank You

They are molded into the backside of the topplate.

Good for thought on the manufacturers side. It has to be drilled I imagine it doesn’t just punch out correct?

I will look today, as I have original and aftermarket top plates. They have to be drilled, not just punched out.

Kerndog was working with a top plate for his TKO swap. Look for the pictures of the console.

Here is a picture from his swap.

I see the oval slot also but I don’t anything on the bottom side of the tachometer that would require it. Something broke off?

Maybe for a pivot point?

Check out this top on Ebay has some sort of plastic base.

There should be a pin on the base of the tach that rides in the slot. I put reproductions on my 66 recently and the holes, slots were imprinted on the back side. No problem drilling and filing them out. you do need the plastic base glide though.

Had the guide, it works well. Another small job tackled. Thanks all
