I removed this tranny personally from a 67 r/t. While the part number is correct I'm confused on the J before the part number and the 10,000 day calendar date which indicates a 73 date. Both the main case and tail shaft housing have late 1966 date codes as correct for a 67 tranny. There is no vin pad on the bell, which would not be there on a 67. Opinions??

That is not a 10,000 day calendar on 1967 and older.
J is the plant it was built.

As far as date coding a pre 68 trans, the casting date is all you can go by. The seven digit number is a trans. serial number with no date information, as noted above.
