i bought a ez wire harness it provides a hot wire to dome light then it goes tot he two door switches. Problem is the head light switch also has this feature and im confused how to run wires for this part to allow me to tun on dome light when door is closed any help is appriciated And would be returned where i can help.

Switch has

B1 for battery direct
B2 for Low power Battery Direct???
P for side markers if i add
R for rear lights np
H head lights no problem
D for dome schematic confuses me since this also does to the door switches.??? Help
I for instruments np since i think this dims the instruments

The dome lamb is on a switched ground circuit. The 1004 bulb is a two contact single filament bulb, insulated from its mounting socket. Unswitched power one side and switched ground on the other, via the door switches and the headlamp switch.

B2 is normally fed from a “Parking Lights” fuse in the fuse block. The two separate switch power supplies insures that any single failure won’t bring all lights down.

B1 is un-fused, supplies the head lamps only, with a resetting circuit breaker built into the switch.

Factory config should have a separate unswitched fuse for the dome laps. ’67 should use single contact door pin switches.

Yes, the D terminal on the headlight switch grounds internally at one end of the rheostat travel, via the switch mounting, will connect to the door pin switch circuit.

I am close here to fully getting this. Do i need to run two wires to the door switch? in order to make use of the 2 functions door opening and rheostat operation of switch with door closed???

I would think the aftermarket wiring harness would have a dedicated dome/interior lamp circuit. I wouldn’t use the parking light circuit. The door pin switches should only need a single wire, tie them together along with the D terminal of the headlight switch.
