Hi,

A buddy has a 1967 GTX with an 18 spline Hemi transmission and a Dana 3.54 rear.

What bellhousing and flywheel would have come with the car? I believe it was an 11" flywheel, but I am unsure of the bellhousing number/ specs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Casting number 2780512.
Thank you. As far as the cost: Ouch!

That's the hemi one (172 tooth flywheel). Would the one for a 440/18 spline (143 tooth) be this one?

Yes, I neglected to state this is a 440 car. This ad seems to very clearly state that it is for 440 1967 B-body (4-speed only), which this car is. I certainly hope this is correct over the 2780512 bell since that is more than double the price!

Thank you both for your responses!

The bellhousing you need is a 2843234. It was used in 1967 B and C bodies with a 4 speed only. Beware-if you find a bellhousing from a C Body you will find the clutch fork pivot will NOT work. Brewers has the correct pivot.

The 2843234 bellhousing was used in the 1967 440 powered B and C bodies only. It had the small bearing retainer also.

Thanks - yes, this seems to be the one. His tranny is an 18 spline with a small bearing retainer so that fits with the puzzle. He also has the 11" flywheel for it as well, but the bellhousing was wrong.

So 2843234 is it!

Thank you all for the information - this helped a lot and he just ordered the correct bellhousing from Brewers. Now he will have a cast iron 10.5 to get rid of too!
