1967 gtx

I've seen several 67 and older cars with aftermarket or dealer installed side markers.
Some were square. These look like dealer 68 parts.

Must have been like the rash of aftermarket third brake lights that started appearing on early to mid 80s cars after the federal madate in the late 80s.

HMMM. No power nothing. GTX's were suppose to be the gentlemans car. Mine has alot of bells and whistles ( POWER BRAKES,STEERING,BACK SPEAKERS ) because it was a GTX. MINE IS A 68. Maybe 67's did not do that.

in the 60's..options were like line item veto's...You ordered a car to what You wanted and didn't have to buy "packages" a loaded car was somthing a person ordered with all/alot of options....the fender marker lights are weird and could be after installed or like I stated earlier, mexico cars had them in 67 per other posts and conversations....IF I had the money, I'd say 22k is a reasonable price for a solid driver..

66/67 cars ,or square cars, are not bringing the dollars of the 68 on up. % years ago when the cars were selling at their peak,a beautiful 67 GTX would go for 35 to 38 K with a 440...market is bad...car is a gtx but not REAL desireable...but from pics and narrative...decent deal/price...My 2 cents from a guy who has been buying and selling for 40 years..oh when I say square cars...I'm a real sucker for those beauties...had them...love them...just wish they had a bigger wheel well

So as I am decoding the build sheet I dont see a code of 365. I know some of the other cars I have looked at had a code of 365 GTX Package. Does anyone know what this package actually is?

just my 2 cents... sounds a bit high for the car you described. I went and inspected one of the cars on the ebay link in this thread personally - darn good paint approx 10 yrs old, good, original interior [except the dash being cut for an a/m radio... :( and could use carpet too], lots of paperwork and documentation. not a speck of rust and no sign of there ever having been any, drove out very solid - no squeaks or rattles to speak of. started quickly, no smoke etc. not a concours quality car but better than a nice driver. Torqueflite car w/no options other than the console and tach. has been for sale for 6 months now at 23 something with no takers.
Love to have the car myself at 20 [max] but hafta get rid of something else that was supposed to have been gone when I went to look at the GTX...

I have a Hemi GTX and it was ordered with the following....
426 Hemi 2x4 Street
727 Trq Flt
HD Drum Brakes 12"
Magnum 500 Wheels 7.75X14" Redstreak Tires
Deluxe Interior(buckets,console,etc)
Pwr Steering&Brakes
Hood Scoops
150 Speedo
Skid Plate on K Member
Oil Cooler
PP1 Red w/ Blk Vinyl Top and Interior
AM Radio
Tach

It was not ordered with fender signal's or stripe's as most.

Sounds like a $22K car to me. I recently switched insurers on mine and insured it for $22K and they told me they thought that was under market. That car looks and sounds like it could be a nicer car than mine.

Yea the '68 indicators are killing me. And notice, the "bullet" fender indicators are gone. And no stripes... Really good looking car though, and of course, it's a 4 speed with supposed original Inland shifter! But the heater/vent box, shouldn't it be blacked out. I don't mean to nit-pick, just seems wrong.

Actually the heater box is black. I thought the same thing and checked it out today and realized it is just the reflection from the console or something else making the box look silver.

I finished decoding the build sheet. Besides the 440, Dana 354, Sure Grip,
Console
Tach
AM Radio
Rear Speaker
11" HD Brakes
Cigar Lighter
Glove Box Lock
Drip/Sill Mouldings
Hemi Suspension
Under Coating
15" Deluxe Wheel Covers

So not really much for options. Recently had the carb prof rebuilt. It was the correct
4sp carb. Did have a few minor oil leaks. Thanks for everyones input. I know at the end of the day the car is only worth what I am willing to pay for it. Even the fact that I get to see it in person and can pick it up myself is worth something.

Had a chance to look over ended listings on ebay. I see alot of cars not selling under and around 20K becasue they have not met the reserve. So that makes me think the car I looked at is probably ok a 22K. Now maybe they are over priced? A few in the 23K- 25K range look better but dont have the original engines in them. Just my observations.

I did end up buying the car. I went over the weekend and looked it over top to bottom again and loaded it up on the trailer and took it home. I will get up some pics when I get a chance. Over the past 20 years that the guy and his friend before him owned it has had new seat covers, headliner carpet etc. Also has brand new exhaust, wheels, tires, and clutch. All told more than $4000 worth of new stuff over the years. So considering that it has all of its original sheet metal and all of the drivetrain is date code correct I am happy. It even had the correct air cleaner I did not realize the 4 speed cars came with an unsilenced air cleaner.

Nice car.

That is my all time favorite car period if i had the cash i would buy it in a second.!

Congrats on your new car, looks like a nice driver you can enjoy. I think you got a good deal on a car you can drive and not have to worry about loosing money on it down the road. Good luck with it and lets see some pics when you get some time.

If you have second thoughts PM me. I would be interested in the car!! Thanks

Congratulations - it sounded like a very good deal to me. Enjoy:hello2:
