I tried putting this question under Electric and ignition and nobody responded. So Maybe I had the wrong Discussion Heading. my car came with the rear Speaker Fader switch. But it did not come with the rear speaker in place when I received it. The wire for the speaker was curled up in the trunk, but that's it. Can someone that has my car tell me how the speaker was mounted and what screes were used please.

One 6x9 speaker on drivers side. No screens or speaker grills, the 67 GTX package trays were all perforated for speakers and rear defroster.

That info I understand. But did the factory mount the speaker from the top and drop it in the hole or mount from underneath? And which way do the screws go in?

I have to think the speaker would mount from the bottom.
Screws from the top down into the speaker frame with a factory style J clip or nut.
Mounting the speaker from the top would not allow the shelf cover board to lay flat.

From the 1967 Plymouth Service Manual, to me suggests everything from below.

Yes the short sheet metal screws thread into the body of the car from the bottom. There are no speed nuts or nut clips.
