Happy New Year to all members. Hopefuly not a difficult question. It looks like only 7 Hemi Chargers were produced in 1968 that came in a H.T. option. Being the owner of 1, I would like to find out what the other 6 were sold as. Colors, options and such. How many still exist? Can not find any details otherwise. Thanks for all and any input. Garrison.

Two door sports hard top is simply the term for the X*29 fastback roof style. That has nothing to do with a vinyl top or not.

And since its is not possible to cross reference two options (the Hemi AND a vinyl top) and come up with a new production number, what is the source of your information?

You can find out how many '68 XS29 Chargers came with a Hemi (~475) OR came with a a vinyl top (~13,505) but not combine the two and get a new number.

Been trying to gather info and ran across that only 7 were made with a online search. No vinyl top for 1968 Hemi Charger. There was athread on here a while back with a member stating this also. Just reseaching to see, if any of this is true.

My friend has a red one in NY 68 rt 4 spd. He is now restoring it. There is a yellow one on Dodge chargers.com.

The pics are from 2006. It looks exactly like this today. This is exactly how I bought her 25 years + ago from the original owner. All he ever did was put different rims on it as soon as these came out. Also added hood pins. Other than that, just drove it. He was a big Nascar fan.

Based on factory information, there is absolutely no way to know that level of detail so it cannot be confirmed one way or another.

Either the post was irresponsible or taken out of context.

In our desire to make our cars extra special or rare for bragging rights, we have a tendency to, frankly, make up things especially production numbers.

What about the air dam?

That is what I thought. Thank you so very much for your feed back.
