Did the color of the 318 engine in a 1968 Dodge Charger come in more than one color? I have seen LA Red, Orange/Red mix, and Thunderbird Red by Hirsch. What is the correct color and vendor? Thanks!

Sorry I can’t answer your question specifically but most times I see the small block engines looking orange/red it’s due to the red fading.

1967 and earlier SB was indeed red.

There's a lot of discussion about 1968 small block colors, more specifically focused on the 340.

It should be red. Chrysler Industrial Red is correct. Dupli-color has it.

That doc also says the SN should be stamped on the pan rail.

I think we all know that isn't 100% applicable, or am I wrong?
