Hi, 1968 Dodge Coronet 500 for sale, I posted it here 4 years ago (New owner, new member). A local schoolteacher saw it abandoned behind a used car lot in 1973 and rescued it, she owned it for almost 50 years and treated this car like her own child. She died from COVID and donated the car to our Mopar Club and we auctioned it off for charity. I was the lucky high bidder, I knew this was a great car. She was some lady, we took the front seats out to do the Vintage Air upgrade and we found $4000 cash in envelopes under the front seat carpeting. The old heater core blew while driving, blowing hot coolant all over my son's legs and soaking the cash, we had to lay it all out to dry! When I was checking the trunk pan for rust, I found another $4000 in cash under the trunk mat. Maybe a posthumous gift to preserve her pride and joy? Another club member bought a 65 turquoise Belvedere, which contained $10K in cash ! I did not remove the door sill plates or interior door panels, so checking there would not be a bad idea. I have never encountered a Mopar fanatic of this sort, an amazing true story thank you Leah, you are a true Mopar friend! The car has spent it's entire life in CA and has been well cared for, no rust or dents. Original 383 2bbl replaced with 4 bbl and dual exhaust. 2.76 rear axle. New instrument panel with working tachometer. Has Vintage Air A/C upgrade which works great, blows icy cold, a rare occurence in a 60's B Body, brand new 15" Magnum 500 wheels and BF Goodrich Silvertown Redline Radials with less than 100 miles on them. Electronic ignition, Pertronix Flamethrower ignition coil, electric fuel pump, side mirrors, bumper guards, air shocks and interior hood release latch. Comes with original 14" chrome road wheels, operator's manual, shop manual, reproduction window sticker and sales literature. Asking $27K OBO.

Miles on car, on engine? Repainted?
The original odometer shows 46718, I'm assuming that's 146718, and I replaced the instrument panel due to non-functional speedometer, it shows about 30 miles. The car was restored at least once and repainted, that's what I was told. Paint is in excellent condition.

You have a gem there forsure! I just purchased a 68 Coronet 500 last year for right about the same price? Tell you what,.. i should've held out for this beauty!

Wow, this is almost a clone of my very first car, way back when. The only difference, mine was a 4 spd. and had a red interior (buddy seat instead of console). I would be all over this if my shop wasn't currently full.

A Mopar that produces cash? Great trick. Mine makes money disappear .

Great car! GLWS!
