I recently purchased a 68 Coronet wagon with a 318 2bbl and a 3 speed manual on the tree to make into my parts hauler/tow vehicle. It was supposed to be a running/driving vehicle and it is not. It will start and run for about 15 seconds before gas starts pouring out of the top of the carb. I had to adjust the clutch all the way out and it will go into gear now, but grinds a little and is tough to get back out of gear. I fear that I have bitten off more than I can chew so I am offering it up for sale for a short time while I finish my 69 Charger project.
The car has a front sway bar and an 8&3/4 rear but is not a posi. I did purchase a new gas tank and 3/8 sending unit for it that will go with it. It has the 15x7 cop car wheels (hub caps are included) with BFG 245/60s in the front and 275/60s in the rear. The DS front floor pan is rotted through, but the rest are good. The PS will probably need to be replaced front to back. The spare tire well is solid but the storage well is rotted through. The body and frame rails on this car are SOLID! All of the glass is in the car including the rear window, but I haven't been able to roll any of the windows up or down. The vent windows work perfectly and look like they have new weather stripping installed.
Overall this would be a great project for someone with the time and money to complete it. Unfortunately I am just getting tired and burned out on projects. I need to get $2,500 for the car. It came from GA and does not have a title, but I do have a bill of sale. If you are worried about getting a title for the car, I can go over to the DMV with you and get a clear FL title in your name before you leave with the car. If I can't get the pics to load up on here, just send me your email and I will send them to you. Thanks for looking.

3 on tree w a/c. Interesting.

Nice and straight, too.

Thanks. I do have the compressor to go with it. I took it off to have better access to the carb to see what was going on. Also, if the transmission worked properly, I was going to swap it out to a 4bbl intake and carb so I could drive it and get a better baseline for how much work I had ahead of me. I have the original flat hood that is in excellent shape too if someone would rather have that than the sixpack hood. The body on the car is in amazing condition for its age, but the interior needs just about everything. Thanks for the interest.

No interest? I thought I priced it pretty fair. I can negotiate a little on the price if someone is seriously interested.

WOW! Still no interest? If it doesn't sell soon, I will have to start working on it. I can go $1,900 just like it sits. I was wanting to go with a modern 5.9 and 5 speed set up, but finding one complete and ready to go has proven a little more difficult than I imagined. I do have a 383/727 that is all set up and ready to go, but I kind of feel embarrassed to convert the car to an auto. Anyway, if someone is interested in the swing pedal assembly, let me know just in case I decide to go that route.

I could take that for it without the cop wheels. Thanks for the interest.

sorry for the hijack

good luck with the sale

Do I know you!?!

If you are talking to me, you will see that I quoted his post. Had nothing to do and I apologize for jumping on your thread. I will remove it. Just trying to get some results from 74 RR 340.

RonP, I'm sorry, I did not notice that you were quoting and communicating with 74 RR 340. It's all good. Best of luck collecting!

Don Garlits is coming up!
Looks like you might need a driver's side motor mount.
I've been a wagon fan since I was a kid.
Just WAY TOO MANY projects right now.

Yeah, needs a DS motor mount and a few other little things. LOL I don't get a spot at Garlits. I just can't see paying $50 to drag my stuff all the way across town. This year I am taking my son to see the Blue Angels in Jax, so I will only be at Garlits Friday and maybe Sunday. However, anyone heading to the area looking for stuff can check on Craigslist in Ocala. I have a BUNCH of stuff listed on there and I have had people email me from out of state wanting to get stuff on their way in on Friday so they can sell it at the show for more. I usually try to price my stuff so it is cheap for restorers but too much for vendors, but recently a guy bought a bunch of my stuff and then I saw it on Craigslist and ebay for twice the price. Oh well.

Before chopping it up,I would recommend one last ditch effort to post it for sale over on the station wagon forums.

At least over there they will appreciate the car for what it is.
BTW,air and the 3 on da tree is a rare combo.

If nobody wants it as a whole car, there is a guy over there screaming for wagon lower quarter panels and other B wagon schtuff.

A float stuck to the bottom of the bowl will cause the carb to puke fuel to the top.
Common when the carb has sat for a long time.

I own a 3 speed wagon and it is a blast to drive.

Thanks for the input, but I wasn't going to cut the wagon up, sort of. I like the 69 better, and I have a 69 Coronet 440 that I am putting a fiberglass front end on. I already have the fiberglass bumper and 6pak hood, but I still need fenders. I'm gonna take the good steel nose from that car and put it on the wagon. I just need an extra 69 grille too. The 318/3spd is getting tossed in favor of a 383/727 for now, but would like to go to a 440/5spd on the floor eventually. So, although I am sure there are people out there cringing at my plans to alter a mostly original car, I will at least be keeping it on the road. Any idea on where I can get stuff like weather stripping for this car? Thanks
