Unfortunately I'm selling the GTX, found another car and can't keep them all.
Short version - Numbers match, fender tag present, and broadcast sheet. Great original, unrestored car.
Long version - Keep reading.

1968 GTX 440/727 - Car is in terrific shape, never torn apart to be restored, believed to be just under 80K miles with one repaint. I purchased the car a year ago after it had sat for over 10 years without being driven. All systems are gone through and operational. Here are some highlights and details.

- Numbers match with lots of born with parts still on the car. Entire drive line matches from engine to rear end. Fender tag matches both radiator support and trunk lip numbers. Broadcast sheet then ties the VIN to the Sequence Number. Original – starter, alternator, carb, distributor, intake, heads, WP housing, and exhaust manifolds…. The only item I cannot verify on the broadcast sheet is the steering wheel (missing chunk out of broadcast sheet), however I do believe the one in the car is the original.

- Engine – Original born with 440. The engine from sitting needed some attention. The engine was completely torn down and rebuilt with new parts including cam and lifters. Bearings and rings were the only parts needed on the bottom end, stock pistons and rods remain. No cutting was required either, crank is stock dimensions and bores are stock size also. Carb, distributor, starter, and alternator all rebuilt at that time. Battery is new as of 8/2016 along with new VR.

- Interior/Glass/Top – Believed to be all original except carpets. All in good condition, one rip on back of passenger seat. Some seams are getting stressed but no blow outs anywhere. Clock and blower do not work. I have a working blower motor that goes with the car. All glass including windshield appear to be original. Top is in good shape and I believe it to be original to the car. Options on this car other than buckets, console & 727 were AM 8 Track and Rear Defroster. Radio works but don’t know if 8 Track does.

- Fuel/Cooling – Fuel systems is all new, tank to engine including fuel pump. Radiator was pressure tested and cleaned, it is not the original core but is the original radiator to the car. Heater core is not leaking. All new hoses and clamps.

- Trans/ Rear/Exhaust/Brakes/Tires/Wheels/Suspension – 8 ¾ Suregrip with 3.23:1 gears, all born with parts. New fluids. 727 shift good and fluid is clean. New stainless Magnaflow from born with manifolds to original tips. Brakes are new all around and serviced w/ new MC. Front discs are aftermarket, original drums included with the car. Front to rear line is new also with new brake fluid in entire system. Tires are new and wheels were on the car, they cleaned up nicely. Suspension consumable parts are all new, shocks, bushing, ball joints…

- Paint & Under Carriage – Car was purchased by last owner in mid 90’s and he said it was painted then. The original color is GG1 which is the darkest green available for 1968. Car is now black and paint has held up very well. Under hood probably has the most chips and lifting paint due to bad prep. The exterior of the car is very good and has chips from usage and storage over the years. Trying to describe paint is hard and objective, I would rate it 7/10. There are NO blisters bubbles or rust anywhere. Magnet test shows there maybe some filler in lower rear quarters and lower fenders but none of that has shown through in over 20 years. Underside of the car was originally undercoated and then later the car was Ziebart’ed. This stuff is a huge mess but it has incredibly preserved the car. I cleaned 90% of it off and found the factory green paint underneath. Very minor surface rust in a couple areas, nothing though. Trunk is original and in good shape with minor rust in lower channels.
