I am trying to figure out what type of plating goes on the hood latch? Is it galvanized or something else. And does anyone have a way to replicate it. Thanks for the help

I believe that it was probably cadmium, difficult to get now days. Something replaces it, Brite work or something? Painted mine silver, VHT silver header paint is pretty fine silver and maybe a matte clear to seal it.

I've coated quite a few hood, door and trunk latch components over the years. I have powders that replicate nickel plating, argent, cadmium and a whole bunch of others. Here's a couple pics.
