1968 "Road Runner" Decals

Hello all...

New Road Runner owner here...I picked up a 1968 Road Runner...Numbers matching 383 4bbl.

Couple questions...In 68' the Road Runner decal is black/white correct ?? Because Chrysler didn't have the rights from Warner Bros ??

If so, I see a lot of ads claiming 68' Road Runner's with the classic colored Warner Bros versions on them...Is that true ??

Did any 68's come with a beep beep horn ??

We would love to hear more about your car, why not go to the welcome wagon and tell us some about your car (with pictures too, we love pictures!)

It is my understanding that the decal in 1968 was black and white, although I am pretty sure they did have the rights at that point. I can't speak to the horn, but I thought that started in 68, but am really not sure...

My understanding is this;
* the Bird decals were black/white on the '68 doors
* the "Meep Meep" horn was also black in '68, changing to purple in '69 (late '68 models also)

Hi decals were black and white on the doors and dash, horn was black, they had the rights before the car went to market, Phil 68 RR from Corpus Christi

1968 deck lid & dash RR standing decals & 1968 door decals are running birds,
RR decals were color in 69 & later, the 68's were B&W,
the horn was a beep beep horn in 1968 also it was black in color
the 1969 latter beep beep horns were a violet purple color

Chiming in on an old thread/topic. I don’t believe all 1968 Road Runners had black and white decals. My Dad’s original 1968 Hardtop had the color (“1969”) decals from the factory. Maybe it was a late production car for 1968? (The Horn is all black and not purple.)
