1968 Surperbee hood pins

hey guys. So working on my 68 Superbee and for some reason the old owner drilled holes in the hood and added hood pins next to the hood stops. I did noticed that there are some brackets about 4" back from the hood stops. They have holes that are a perfect size for hood pins. So is this for hood pins? I want to keep the pins but would like to have them in the proper location. I'm running a steel hood with hinges (not a lift off hood). Help...what are these brackets for?

No hood pins in 68, but if you want to keep them, you could put them in the correct spot for 69:

Thanks Super Rob. The link was perfect, even showed where to attach the lanyard. I just finished glassing my scoop to the steel hood. Guess I need to weld up the existing holes and drill new ones.
