727 Trans for sale, removed from my 1969 Dodger Charger 440 R/T project, I purchased this project some twelve years after it was disassembled so when he says "it worked perfectly" when removed I can't attest to validity. I'm selling as Core value, expect a rebuild.
It is in St George Utah (two hours north of Las Vegas) 84790, shipping not included, $550

Yes, I have gown with a Trimec TKX five speed. I guess many feel it is a bad move. Just like shifting the old way. Tried to figure out an overdrive for it and it was problematic
What do you think.

I’m not sure if the Tremec you are referring to is the same one my buddy had but he did not like it. It would not shift at high rpm, he broke it several time behind a 528 hemi. He had to modify it and finally gave up. The gear ratios were not good either. Low is too low for a 3.54 Dana. He had $8000 in the conversion and I did all of the installation work for free. We finally went back to an 833 Hemi box with gear vendors overdrive unit. He likes it much better. I built another one just like it for another friend in a 69 Charger RT. Get it in 4th, push the clutch in, hit the button and you’re in od. Simple. Now both of these cars are original 4 speed cars so the value is they retain their original transmission. I know several guys that have the Gear Vendors OD unit behind automatic trans. They work great as well. That won’t help you need to manual shift things, though. My initial concern is you giving up you matching number transmission. I did that years ago on my AAR when we did not even think about numbers and I regret that now. I would not consider the hemi OD gear set available right not. The gear spread is too wide and I’ve had installation problems with the gears and I’ve built plenty of transmissions. So, I know what I’m doing. I no longer use that vendor. Brewers is the only people I buy from now. Feel free to send me a DM if you have more questions.
