The box is only there to keep the shipping material and the part in. Use liberal amounts of shipping material and it will be fine. Cut up a box or two to make something that works. Tape the crap out of it. Ship it insured via USPS.

Take it to a FedEx or UPS store and have them package it up. They will warranty it that way.
