Hey guys, here's the problem: finally finished up a bunch of work on the car and needed to make some modifications to my steering shaft. So I ended up cutting the end off of it to shorten it and weld a u-joint onto the end. I install it and attach the extra piece of shaft to the new IFS. Back inside the car I go, I slide the housing over the end and bolt it in. However the two grooves for the upper bearing would leave the bearing sitting outside of the housing. So, at the risk of doing more damage and breaking the plastic pins inside the column, I decide I should just hit the shaft in with a rubber hammer. Worked! I put my bearing in and the clips. Now I have to re-adjust the shaft. Only problem is, it pushed the lower bearing out the bottom. Whats going on here?!
