I'm a little confused about the supposed vin that's stamped on the core support and trunk gutter. My 70 roadrunner/sattlite(trying to figure it out) has no vin on the dash. Core support and trunk gutter match. They are G0 I77247. The 77247 is probably the last few digits in the vin, going to guess the G is for saint louis Missouri plant and the 0 after that is the 70 model year. Is this correct? What is the I, if anything?

G is faint, but there. Fairly certain it's an I,

the last six (177247)is correct, the second set omitted the 1. Body numbers weren't always perfect, and even spelled backwards.

The year and plant are reversed on the body stamping compared to the VIN. The letter I was used in place of the numeral 1.

G is the Plant
0 (zero) is the year
177247 last six of the VIN

The cars VIN should read RM23_OG177247. Or
RM21_0G177247. Or
Rm27 if it's a vert

It's a 27, DMV has no record of it, getting a small paper trail from the guy I bought it from. Hopefully I'll be able to get some info on it...

Yep, you have all the info you need now. You're only missing a couple letters/numbers from the VIN & can figure out the complete VIN with just a few guesses. ALL convertible b-bodies were built in St.Louis
