My cars trunk looked like swiss cheese when I bought it, where does the fuel gauge wire go threw the floor to the tank?

My guess it would be the same as my '69 RR and 68' Coronet........Hole in the trunk, offset a bit to the right.

Thanks Prop, anything to protect the wire from things in the trunk?

Depending on options and vehicle, factory may have had a trunk mat over the wire to help protect it. Neither one of mine had any kind of cloth loom or anything on it, just bare insulated wire.

There was a grommet it went through as well but I don't think they reproduce those so you'll just have to find one that'll work. I'm just planning on surrounding mine with stripping caulk or something like that.

If you get a new wiring harness (which I believe is par the rear tail light harness) it comes with a new gormmet. The cloth covered part of the wire runs along the left side of the trunk to the tail lights (which should be covered by the long plastic piece for chargers). The fuel wire splits just as the trunk drops and is a regular covered wire that just gets protected by the trunk mat and also goes under the spare tire. Evans wiring in PA might carry just the gormmet if you need them, I know they make alot of wiring harnesses. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I used an American Autowire universal harness and have the wires all routed where they where but am thinking about dropping the fuel gauge wire threw the floor right by the inner fender (less chance for damage). Thanks I wouldn't have thought they would have done it like that.
