I am new to the site...I live in Indiana and was wondering if anybody has seen, heard of or know of 1969 Coronet RT 440 4barrel Automatic that was I believe F8 Green, Black Interior, Antique Green Vinyl top, magnum 500 wheels this car when bought a year old had no RT strip but no emblems just the Black RT stickers as if there was a strip and it had been removed. This was my Dads car I think he sold it around 74 or 75. He has been wondering if its still around. He is a boat guy now and has no interests buying it back. Dad and Mom would just love to see pictures of it if it still is around weather its in good or poor shape. This was the car that they started dating in. I do know he said when he sold it there where about 3 different shades of green on it, just from different accidents. It would be cool to give some history to the current owners, But then maybe this car no longer exists. Maybe someone knows if they or someone parted it out, crushed it or wrecked this car and sent it to the junk yard or just setting and rotting. Any help finding the last whereabouts would be cool. Thanks.

100_0251.jpgi live just a little south of indy and don't recall seeing the car, i hope you find it. there is a way to locate it if your parents have the vin number. i have a '69 r/t, bought it in '85, and have noticed there isn't a lot of them around this area. i've tried to locate the original owner of mine but never had any luck at it.

Welcome. Your father has excellent taste in cars.

I track cars built for the '69 model year at the St. Louis and Lynch Road plant. If you can come up with even a partial VIN number, I may have it on file. The car could be modified and repainted by now so a physical description is some help but having the VIN would be the best.

Lewtot, there aren't a lot of R/Ts anywhere. ;)

I was lucky. I was able to trace mine back to the original owner and dealership.

I have looked for the vin and have not come across it yet, I'm still hoping they have some old papers around. I called insurance and there records only go back to 79. I should have put this in the original post but the car did have the ram charger hood and side scoops also.

i've got the original owners manual with the name of purchaser and dealership but haven't found any info on either. it's hard to beat the looks of those '69 coronets and coronet r/t's aren't common.

Welcome, they are a bit rare. fun cars. more often than not you will be the only one at most events. accept my birthday. there is always 4 there!

Sorry I should have put this in the Lost and Found section. Any other ways to come up with a lost VIN?
