Does anyone know this car?
Aside from the rather optimistic asking price ( I am not in the market, lol), it appears to be well documented. However, as I look through detailed photos, there are at least a couple of glaring errors. There are no torque boxes where they should be on the chassis. Didn't all Hemi cars have the torque box reinforcements from the factory?

The torque boxing was inconsistent.
It wasn't an option they were advertising and charging money for. It was a step the factory was taking on their own. They didn't want to pay out warranty claims for flexed unibodies when people drag raced the car with slicks all weekend, and then brought it back to the dealership on Monday morning with the stock tires on it.
The 4spd was a big factor. The factory did put torque boxes on many 440/4spds and didn't always even put them on Hemi/autos.

Should it have torque boxes? Absolutely.
Is it possible they got missed ? sure

BUT with them missing would cause concern and require a much deeper search on the car

They are there....

And shouldn't 1969 also have the FT re-enforcements ?

If so , Not there either

There is also some sketchy non-factory welding on the K-member. In speaking with the slippery salesman, he indicated that the now deseased original owner was a bodyshop owner/operator. Go figure.

This is a local car to the Denver metro area and I have seen it mulitple times. Its a one owner, special order car that is believed to be the only B5 Hemi auto Daytona made. It is in amazing original condition and would probably get that number at Barrett.

I agree it is well documented, however in just looking at the photos from afar I picked up on the missing components and the non factory welding on the K-member. It has also had a sloppy repaint of the rear valance. They painted over the license plate rubber bumpers, unless Creative Industries painted over them when the car was converted.

Those were on convertibles.
Ok did some cking
And I stand corrected ,,,,,Should only be the rears

Apologies to all

BUT it sure looks like the car is missing the torque boxes and the triangle plates at the rear spring hanger
Cant see the pinion snubber area well enough to say if it has the extra plate welded or not
Better ck for the extra plates welded inside the ft spring mounts

This is strictly my opinion only

But If I were in the market ( and I am most definitely not ) I would sure want to see that car up close and personal before I forked over almost 2 mil

IMO Procede with extreme caution

Absolutely!

For a 43,000 mile car, a lot has been monkeyed with.

Non-original seat upholstery.

With 4:10, shouldn't the PS pump have a cooler?

Painted access cover in the fenderwell. The engine has been out.

Original paint Daytona's that I've seen have had overspray on the washer hoses on the cowl and wiper motor.

Wasn't the woodgrain dash something that came with the SE package?
