I have tried 4 times.
I tried copper RTV.
I made sure both surfaces are smooth and flat with a straight edge.
I torqued to 35lbs and increased to 45lbs.
Dang thing still leaks.
I’m tempted to pull the manifold.

What are you using for a gasket? OE was a flat steel with a small bead. Rarely works on older stuff but newer fiber works well

Maybe the exhaust is leaking from the heat riser shaft. It might be worn out ?
Was considering that as well.
The only flange gasket was leaking.
I wonder if I can replace the heat riser while installed. Or at least the shaft.
Maybe install some small plugs where the shaft goes.

Years ago I had one that wouldn't hold a gasket.... Changed it four times.... Picked up a set of new 3/8" thick flanges.. bolted the existing headpipes up to the manifolds with the new flanges sandwiched in the middle... Put a few tack welds on each flange then dropped them down & fully welded the new flanges to the old flanges, bolted it together with new gaskets & hardware... That was probably seven years ago & it hasn't leaked since...

I have one that leaks, I put two gaskets on that side. Get them from NAPA.

Absolutely 3 Rd on the remflex.....all leaks stopped with them .....or it's leaking elsewhere!!!:)

I put Copper RTV on every exhaust gasket. It works for me.

A couple passes with a flat tile too- some of those flanges become banana’d.
