1969 Road Runner bumpers

I had Tri-City re-plate my original bumpers on my A12. $1,070 for both shipped from Tennessee to Florida in March of last year. Cost me <$100 to ship them up to them. I have a Dart that they re-plated the bumpers on almost 20 years ago. They still look like they were done yesterday. Between my desire to reuse as many of the original parts from my A12 as possible and my experience with Tri-City previously it was a no-brainer for me. I used Bumper Boys several years ago on another project car. Horrible choice. Poor quality plating and the backs of the bumpers got rusty before I even got them bolted on - I had to paint the backsides black just to be able to use them. No personal experience with AMD.

I like the idea of reuse too and if I could get them done for that price I would. I'm in Victoria, BC though. I hear there is a good place on the mainland but that they are quite pricey as well.
I have lots of time to decide... Lol

shoulda coated the back side with Flexi Seal...I hear it's got all kinds of uses for cars....

I know this is an old thread... but I always thought I had plenty of time to get bumpers. I just got to that point and ordered bumpers back in May - AMD , ordered from Classic industries... Now they tell me AMD discontinued them! I've been hunting... I have a 1968 Satellite, but like the 1969 backup light in the bumper, so I ordered backup light and bumpers... I got the backup lights before contacting them and finding out that "backordered" now means discontinued!

I did the same thing ... I had a couple of good cores but man it cost $1900 + shipping to have them replated by tri-city.

It's hard to believe tariffs had that much of an effect on the price of reproductions to make them unprofitable.

Agreed. Even if they were the same price as rechromed, I would rather have new AMD since they would have no rust pitting on the backs and nice square bolt holes versus old originals.
